SESSIONS FOR PEOPLE

Mobile Complementary Therapist in Kent, Sussex & Surrey

If you are feeling stiff, restricted, uncomfortable, or worried that your mobility is slowly declining, you may be looking for support that feels gentle, safe, and respectful, especially if other approaches have felt too intense or simply not right for you.

I am a mobile complementary therapist working across Kent, Sussex, and Surrey, with almost 30 years’ experience as an NHS critical care nurse. I now offer light-touch, consent-led therapy for people who want calm, professional support to help their body move more freely and feel more at ease.

My work is quiet, unhurried, and grounded in listening, to you, and to how your body responds.

Gentle Complementary Therapy for Comfort and Mobility

As a complementary therapist in Kent, Sussex, and Surrey, I specialise in gentle muscle release therapy, including the Emmett Technique. This approach uses light, precise finger pressure at specific points on the body to help muscles soften and release unnecessary tension.

There is no forceful manipulation and no “pushing through pain”.
Many people are surprised by how subtle the work feels, and how noticeable the changes can be.

Sessions are always adapted to you and your comfort on the day.

How Light Touch Therapy Works

Light touch therapy works by giving the nervous system clear, calm signals that it is safe to let go. When muscles have been holding tension, sometimes for years, they often need reassurance rather than force.

The Emmett Technique uses gentle contact to:

  • Encourage muscles to release guarding or holding patterns
  • Support easier movement and balance
  • Help the body settle into a calmer, more regulated state

My background as an NHS nurse means I bring strong clinical awareness, safety, and observation to every session, while keeping the experience calm and human rather than medicalised.

Who These Sessions Are For

You may find this work helpful if you:

  • Feel stiff, restricted, or uncomfortable in everyday movement
  • Notice your body feels more sensitive or reactive than it used to
  • Are anxious about declining mobility or confidence
  • Have tried other approaches and want something gentler
  • Value professionalism, experience, and being listened to

Many of my clients appreciate a quieter, more respectful approach, especially those who feel wary of hands-on treatment or have had challenging experiences in the past.

What to Expect in a Session

As a mobile complementary therapist, I come to you, whether that’s your home or workplace, across Kent, Sussex, and Surrey. Evening and weekend appointments are available.

Sessions can be carried out:

  • Seated or standing (lying down is optional, not required)
  • Through clothing, no need to remove layers
  • At a pace that feels right for you

A typical session lasts between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on your needs and how your body responds. We check in throughout, and nothing is ever done without your consent.

A Calm, Respectful Approach

My work is:

  • Gentle and non-forceful
  • Consent-led at every stage
  • Evidence-informed, without over-clinical language
  • Grounded in years of working with people at their most vulnerable

Whether I’m working with people or animals, the principle is the same: listen first, act carefully, and respect the body’s own pace.

Booking a Session

If you’re looking for a complementary therapist in Sussex, Surrey, or Kent who offers gentle, professional support in the comfort of your own space, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

We can talk through what’s going on for you and whether this approach feels like a good fit, with no pressure and no obligation.

Support doesn’t have to be intense to be effective. Sometimes, the lightest touch is enough to help the body begin to settle and move more freely again.
