Distance Sessions

Professional support for people, dogs, and horses

Distance sessions offer calm, focused professional support when an in-person visit is not suitable, or as part of ongoing care.

These sessions are guided with the same care, intention, and professional awareness as hands-on work and can be offered for people, dogs, and horses.

Distance sessions may be helpful when:

  • Travel is not possible
  • Ongoing support is needed between in-person visits
  • A client or animal is unsettled by unfamiliar environments
  • Support is needed during times of change, recovery, or end-of-life care

Each session is approached with respect, sensitivity, and a deep awareness of both physical and emotional wellbeing.

How distance sessions work

Distance sessions are focused sessions of up to 25 minutes, carried out without physical contact.

They are led with careful observation, intention, and professional judgement, drawing on my experience as a complementary therapist and my background in clinical care.

For people, sessions may support relaxation, regulation, and a greater sense of ease within the body.
For animals, sessions are often supportive when handling is not possible or when familiar surroundings are especially important.

Following a session, gentle observations or guidance may be shared to support ongoing comfort and integration.

Who Distance Sessions Are For

Distance sessions are suitable for:

  • People seeking calm, supportive care without the need for travel
  • Dogs who are anxious, recovering, elderly, or unsettled by hands-on treatment
  • Horses who are sensitive, in rehabilitation, or more comfortable in their own environment

The same approach and level of care are offered regardless of species. Sessions are based on focused presence and professional awareness rather than physical handling.

Distance Sessions – FAQs

What is a distance session?

A distance session is a focused, professional session carried out without physical contact. It is guided with the same care, attention, and intention as in-person work.

Are distance sessions the same for people, dogs, and horses?

Yes. The fee is the same for people, dogs, and horses. Distance sessions are based on professional focus and responsibility rather than physical handling.

How do I prepare for a distance session?

Very little preparation is needed. You may be asked to provide a brief update beforehand. For animals, a recent photo is helpful. Gentle observations or guidance may be shared after the session.

Can distance sessions replace in-person treatment?

Distance sessions can be very supportive but may not replace hands-on work in all situations. Where appropriate, in-person sessions may be recommended.

Are distance sessions suitable for urgent situations?

No. Distance sessions are offered as complementary support and are not a replacement for veterinary or medical care. Any urgent concerns should always be directed to a qualified vet or healthcare professional.
