FAQs – Treating People (Session Blocks & Care)
What type of therapy do you offer for people?
I offer specialist Emmett-based complementary therapy for people.
This is a gentle, light-touch approach that works with the nervous system to support ease of movement, comfort, and relaxation.
It is not massage and involves no force or manipulation.
What happens during the first session?
The initial session includes time to listen to your concerns, observe posture and movement, and gently assess how your body is responding.
Emmett-based contacts are applied where appropriate. Sessions are calm, respectful, and paced to suit you, with your comfort guiding the work at all times.
Does the treatment hurt?
No.
This work is very gentle and should not cause discomfort. There is no deep pressure or force used.
Many people report a sense of ease, relaxation, or subtle changes in movement during or after sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
Some people notice changes after a single session.
Others benefit from a short series of sessions to allow changes to settle and stabilise.
A common approach is:
-
An initial assessment session
-
Follow-up sessions as needed, based on your response
This is always reviewed together — there is no fixed requirement.
Do you offer session packages for people?
Yes.
Optional session packages are available for those who would like continuity of care or ongoing support.
Packages are usually discussed after the initial session and there is no obligation to commit.
How are sessions usually spaced?
While everyone is different, sessions are often:
-
Closer together initially
-
Then spaced further apart to allow time for integration
Spacing is guided by how your body responds and your individual circumstances.
Can this work alongside medical care?
Yes.
This work is complementary and can sit alongside medical care or other therapies.
I do not diagnose or replace medical treatment.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are usually carried out in your home or workplace, allowing you to remain relaxed in a familiar environment.
How do I book or ask questions?
