FAQs – Treating Horses (Session Blocks & Care)

What type of therapy do you offer for horses?

I offer specialist Emmett-based complementary therapy for horses.
This is a gentle, light-touch approach that works with the nervous system to support ease of movement and comfort.

It is not massage and involves no force or manipulation.

What happens during the first session?

The initial session includes careful observation of your horse’s posture, movement, and behaviour, followed by gentle Emmett-based contacts where appropriate.

Sessions are calm, respectful, and paced to suit the horse. Trust and consent guide the work at all times.

Does the treatment hurt?

No.
This work is very gentle and should not cause discomfort. There is no deep pressure or force used.

Horses often show signs of relaxation such as softening, yawning, or changes in posture during or after sessions.

How many sessions will my horse need?

Some horses show changes after a single session.
Others benefit from a short series of sessions to allow changes to settle and stabilise.

A common approach is:

  • An initial assessment session

  • Follow-up sessions as needed, based on how the horse responds

This is always reviewed together — there is no fixed requirement.

Do you offer session packages for horses?

Yes.
Optional session packages are available for owners who would like continuity of care.

  • 4-session package – £360

  • 6-session package – £510

Packages are usually discussed after the initial session and there is no obligation to commit.

How are sessions usually spaced?

While every horse is different, sessions are often:

  • Closer together initially

  • Then spaced further apart to allow time for integration

Spacing is guided by how the horse responds and their individual circumstances.

Can you work alongside my vet, farrier, or other professionals?

Yes.
This work is complementary and can sit alongside veterinary care, physiotherapy, training, or farriery where appropriate.

I do not diagnose or replace veterinary treatment.

Do you offer out-of-hours or urgent appointments?

Urgent appointments after 6pm, at weekends, or on Bank Holidays may be available when required.
An additional out-of-hours fee applies.

Can you see more than one horse at the same location?
